The important thing is not to panic, and to make sure you don't accidentally help them spread further. Our resources page has instructions on what to do if you encounter bedbugs while traveling, or come across them in your home.
Yes. We allow anonymous posts, provided you follow our posting guidelines.
We don't take reports down without the author's consent. However, we do have a process for marking posts that have been disputed. It's outlined on our guidelines page.
Sometimes a hotel is not included in our database, or is not listed correctly. If you can't find the listing, email the report (including the name and address of the hotel) to reports@bedbugregistry.com.
Your post may be removed if it doesn't comply with our posting guidelines. In some cases, we also take down posts that are over two years old for properties that have not had a subsequent bedbug report. In all other cases, we will seek your permission before modifying or deleting a post.
We can't - this is the Internet! All our bedbug reports are submitted through the site, and have not been vetted for accuracy. We do our best to flag posts that have been disputed, but we remind our readers to take things with a grain of salt.
Some reports are posted by malicious tenants. Some are posted by evil competitors. Some are posted by hypochondriacs
Congratulations! In these cases, we will often contact the people who submitted the original report, explain that the situation has been resolved, and ask their permission to take the posts down. We also encourage you to post to the page so that visitors can know the problem has been addressed.
We will remove posts over two years old if there have been no subsequent report of bedbugs.
